Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary

Mulliner bentley flying spur key's bespoke coachbuilding unit has created a unique keycase to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the brand. It is constructed of Dark Stained Burr Walnut with Piano Black Veneer and includes an eagle-like "B" paperweight, keys, and an unreleased booklet with 1930s 8 Litre images.

Aesthetics

Design

Bentley is known for its extravagant and lavish cars and even the keys are designed to stand out. The Bentayga Key is made of sterling silver, and has a large B' logo to let everyone know that you drive a Bentley. The key is also engraved with the dates 1919 and 2019 to mark the company’s centenary.

The Mulsanne was redesigned and improved by Bentley Mulliner to be the ultimate Grand Touring car. It comes with two pairs of rear seats that were inspired by the luxury of private aviation offering passengers unbeatable comfort and security. A customized heating, air conditioning and ventilation system was designed to ensure each passenger has the perfect climate control setting.

The Mulsanne is equipped with a twin turbocharged 6.75 litre W12 engine that produces 560bhp and 479lb-ft torque. This incredible power is complemented by a new suspension architecture that delivers Bentley's signature hushed ride.

Bentley has released a special specification for cars manufactured after the year 2019 in order to celebrate its centennial. It is known as the Centenary Specification. This includes contrast stitching and cross-stitching in Centenary Gold thread throughout the cabin. The Bentley Wings are embroidered with Centenary Gold on the headrests and seats as well as other areas of the car. This is a great way to celebrate the occasion. Function

Personalisation

Bentley's Mulliner division allows customers to design their own car. Guests sit at a series of images referred to as "mood stations" and pick a set of photos - from scenic vistas to sporting events - that inspire them to design their own. Each time a selection is made, the pattern that emerges shows the model preference for color, style and design for the customized Bentley.

The configuration that is created is then loaded onto individual R.F.I.D.-enabled keys that are then presented to the guests in a hand-crafted key case. Keys can be adorned with Bentley Muliner Personalised welcome lamps that illuminate the pathway of the door opening with the owner's name or logo as they approach the vehicle.

Bentley estimates it takes approximately 500 man hours to design and assemble the average Mulsanne. The reluctance to embrace modern technology is the key to this laborious task. The Crewe factory workers don't make use of a machine to create perfectly-matched cross stitched leather seats. Instead, they do it by hand. Instead of letting the car's built in sensors guide it into parallel and perpendicular parking spots drivers must perform the task by hand.
