The ION XL robot cleaner isn't as smart as the iRobot J7+, but it's a great alternative if you don't need to spend more than $500 on a robot. It's better than the RoboVac 11S, in many ways. It's simpler to maintain and has lower monthly costs. It also performs better at vacuuming bare floors and picking up pet hair, but it does not do as well on low- or high-pile carpet.
